I chose this ad because it is for one of my friends in New Mexico.  His name is Jeb Loney and he put these out there to gain some more business and probably to make people laugh a little bit when they read it.  He is advertising that he can float horses teeth, train colts, and do farrier work.  Floating horses teeth is when you file down the molars in the back of their mouth so that their mouth will close correctly.  Training young horses is something else that he is pretty good at and you can make a fair amount of money doing it.  Cold shoeing and trims are things that a farrier does to take care of a horse’s feet.  Cold shoeing is the process of shaping a metal horseshoe without heating it up to fit a horse’s hoof and nailing it on.  Trimming a horse’s hooves is what you do before you put the shoe on.  Even if you don’t shoe a horse it still needs to be trimmed on a regular basis to help keep their feet in proper shape.  At the bottom of the ad he states that he also tells stories, drinks beer, and takes karaoke request.  That was put there to entertain people I believe.  He is a very comical person and has a large sense of humor.  How that will affect the effectiveness of his ad is something that we debated.  Some people think that it will prevent people from taking him seriously and some people think that it will gain peoples attention and get them to call him to do some of the things from the top of his ad.  Overall I believe that it will work for him because anybody that calls him will realize that he is a people person and he does good work.
